Junkyard on Dale St.

This property has been reported by neighbors to the city for years. There is always seven or eight vehicles here. Even if some are registered, it is likely to a different address. This is a code violation enforced by the health department. Current and former city employees often get a pass and we’ve seen many examples of this. If you’ve seen other examples of code violations, please comment to us. If the health department does nothing, you should report them to the Councilmen and the mayor. Their contact information is on the Chicopee website.

No person, company or corporation in control of real property in the City of Chicopee, other than a bona fide licensed commercial auto salvage yard or commercial garage, as determined by the License Committee of the City Council, shall permit the outdoor storage or parking thereon for more than three days of an abandoned, disassembled, inoperable motor vehicle except for one unregistered vehicle that is operable.

  1. Mayor Kos’s office has reported this to the Health Department. We should receive further information within 14-days. – BGM
